I’ve received a more or less benign comment that I would have published, except that it was signed with a pseudonym.  I’m happy to consider anyone’s thoughtful remarks, but will require that they identify themselves, as I do.  Politics is difficult enough without anonymous participants who are not held accountable for their actions.  I find fault and criticize, and I’m sure many disagree with me, but I take public responsibility for what I say and believe.

I did, several years ago, attempt to participate in one of the several online anonymous “forums”.  I quickly learned that the lack of accountability that comes with anonymity often breeds irresponsible and inaccurate commentary.

I put a lot of time into this.  Politics is by definition an adversarial system, as is our justice system.  These things work because people interact and have their feet held to the fire by the opposition.  Anonymous participants work against the notion of personal responsibility and credibility upon which the system based.
