Reality check

Four years ago, after we blew $500,000 on the failed article 9 restoration, somecitizens approached the Selectmen with a plan to conduct a civil yet adversarial program to try to determine what the voters of Wolfeboro would support as a solution to the Town Office problem.  What we got instead were two adversarial groups in the Town Hall Options Committee and TOCAG.  The survey conducted by the UNH Survey Center produced completely different results from the report of the Selectmen’s group.

Now it’s almost four years later, with three failed warrant articles, and we haven’t made any progress. So I think it’s time for a reality check.  I’ve drafted a set of simple questions that will be placed on the March ballot by petition.  After the dust settles in April, we will have a basis for discussion going forward.  I have no idea what to expect.

If I am right, then next Tuesday is the deadline for citizen warrant petitions to be submitted. You might want to check with Town Clerk on Wednesday as there are others circulating, I have two here in front of me to sign today. Should be interesting to watch this unfold.
