Due deliberation

Tomorrow is the first session of our annual town meeting.  For the uninitiated it’s called the deliberative session and it is the closest thing to an old fashioned town meeting that you will get in Wolfeboro.

If you want to see town government in action, come early and stay late.  You’ll get a chance to vote on numerous amendments to the warrant articles that will be on the ballot come March.  If you have questions or concerns about any of the articles, you can get up and voice them.

I think it’s safe to say that there will be some heated debate surrounding the several town office related articles.  It’s a pretty good bet that an amendment to neutralize the petition article to move out of Brewster Hall to leased space will be attempted.  Typically that would be done by amending the amount to $0.  Personally, I think these types of things should be decided by all the voters in March, where absentees and those lacking the access or stamina for the protracted deliberative session can have a voice.

Nevertheless, it will be interesting and I encourage everyone to participate.  The new venue at the High School Arts Center is very comfortable and accessible.  See you there.
